Rogan is a well-known MMA fanboy, and MMA is equally well-known to advance it's own agenda and reputation at the expense of other styles. It does this by challenging other styles of martial arts to a face-off, in which the odds are stacked in it's favor. It's two favorite methods is to impose MMA rules onto the contest (rules specifically created for MMA). So when the MMA guy comes in for the standard shoulder-to-gut takedown, those rules prevent the other stylist from kicking to the face, pivoting and smashing the MMA guys face with his knee, giving a chop to the back of the neck, and so on. The second method is for the MMA fighter to carefully pick his opponent. What most (not much into martial arts) fail to comprehend is that there are basically three sorts of 'black belts' or 'experts':

Those that are skillful teachers

Those that are skillful fighters

Those that are equally skillful teachers and fighters

Whenever you see a video of an MMA fighter going against another stylist, just look into the background/history of the other stylist, and nine times out of ten you will find he is the first sort. This is not an accident. The MMA fighter has been very selective in picking his opponent for that video. He will either pick a poseur (like in this 'Most Hilarious Martial Arts'), or one from 'Those that are skillful teachers' category....then further increase his odds of success, by imposing MMA rules for the bout. MMA has its place, and yes, it's better than the American-boxing upon which it's partly based. Just keep in mind it is not as great as it would pretend to be, nor are other martial arts as crappy as MMA-fanboys would have you believe.
