Sounds like how my mom treated me when I was little. She used lies and confidence schemes to get sympathy from others, putting on a fake caring attitude towards me only when she was around others in order to make herself look like the victim. She had it down good. I learned not to defend myself because she would just turn it into an excuse to play the role and punish me more and turn everyone else against me. I was such a bad son for just wanting a little bit of love from her.
