Nah Waters split off from the rest of the band after The Wall and has been fighting them for song rights in court forever kinda like CCR (hence why you see Floyd tracks in rhythm games). David Gillmour is the song writer for everything afterwards. You can basically divide them into three stages, Barrett/Waters Floyd (Piper At The Gates Of Dawn, Saucer Full of Secrets), Gillmour/Waters Floyd (Darkside, Wish You Were Here, Animals, The Wall) and Gillmour Floyd (Momentary Lapse of Reason, The Division Bell)

Like everyone else I believe the 2nd Era of Floyd was the band's peak, Animals is probably the best concept album ever made, and you can feel the catharsis on Wish You Were Here.
