God created a hierarchy on earth just as he created one in heaven and even hell. The Church is the authority of the Christian faith on earth. The Church is guided by the Holy Spirit. The Church is Apostolic as it has been handed down by the Apostles. Christ created one Church. One faith. He didn't create thousands of contradicting churches who don't agree with each other and are led by self-appointed laymen.
