Let me tell you why. The only, ONLY purpose of a movie in the eyes of Hollywood is money. Period, underline, end of statement. Literally, its only existence is to make money. So, of course, movies are charted along a graph of known formulas and those formulas are maintained by scuttling middle men who poll and sample and watch trends. Those formula samples and trends, along with a litany of political dogmas and social conditioners are then forced onto writers who, as a matter of course, write a bunch of different manuscripts and mash them together into a Frankenstein's monster of a barf-bag, pedantic, formulaic two hour waste of brain-cells that the money men think is going to squeeze out shekels and brainwash the public.
TL;DR movies are now entirely made by money-men, not story tellers.
The purpose of a movie is to TELL A STORY and then make money from that telling. Tell a money man that story is the most important thing to a movie and they will laugh in your face as they set down their money bag to punch keys their calculator penis and formulate a reply. Story telling is about the teller touching the soul of the listener. Money men have no soul, have no humanity, have no creativity. Movies reflect that.
If their goal was actually money, they wouldn't keep making SJW money losing movies. But they keep doing them, so their goal is elsewhere.
You are hitting the nail on the head. What was more valuable: making an extra 5-10 billion in film revenue or convincing the population to submit to globalism and give trillions to insiders?
They've become such zealots in the church of SJW that what they think will make billions is only making millions, and soon hundreds of thousands. Their goal is still to make money, they are just choking to death on their own deluded cult values.
Then their goal is propaganda, then money. If they followed the money, they would have changed when the evidence was overwhelmingly showing them that it was losing them money. But that's not what they have done, they've doubled down. Propaganda first, money second ... or at least money from consumer second.
