Are you (not you you but the processor) willing to buy half rotten food because of this, or by chance sell it where it will only have a very short shelf life. So, as always (and should) feds bail them out, but in order to receive have to destroy it and claim it as a lost because no one will buy food grown "just because" and let it rot in the sun. It would have never made it to plate anyways. so the farmer says okay "this what we gotta do in order to stay in business and not go broke" Subsidies/bailouts are nothing new in farming, infact they couldnt survive with out it even pre pandemic.
