I think the only way for humanity to right itself is if the Sun releases a CME large enough to destroy all our communication infrastructure. How else? What about Eisenhower's starvation orders post WW2? What about the firebombing of Dresden and Japan? What about the concentration camps in America for Japanese? What about the dropping of 2 atomic bombs on Japanese civilians? What about the raping of Berlin by the soviets shortly after the war? The what about list is as long as history.
