Karen Silkwood

It happened so long ago nobody remembers it anymore, I think we can put that behind us.

Three Mile Island

Health effects were negligible: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Three_Mile_Island_accident_health_effects

Chernobyl

The US never used such retarded designs

Fukushima

Zero exposure to the population

a tectonic plate might shift.

I don't see that would work, unless the ground literally split in half under the containment building which would never happen, they're simply not built in such areas.

It's all fear mongering bullshit, this is how it should be framed: more people died from the stupid wind turbines freezing in TX than from all US nuclear accidents combined (shithole Ukraine doesn't count).

Fukushima

Zero exposure to the population

Because some old Nips suited up and showed the world what real men look like by going in there and taking lethal doses while they scrammed the reactors. And they barely made it, and I suppose you're just glossing over the ocean releases and the fact that the "population" there likes to eat fish.

Then you're mighty stupid, because earthquakes happen and tsunamis happen, you idiot.

Both are accounted for, the earth splitting apart right at the reactor is mental masturbation.

"Bothe are accounted for." Oh, pardon me, I didn't realize that our construction methods and materials were now MAGICAL, and could withstand earthquakes rippling the ground near the speed of sound. I had no idea that we were so mighty and advanced a species that we could now build a facility so stable that it could withstand a 9.1 or greater earthquake without breaking in multiple places.

You have your head pretty far up your ass at this point, maybe you should look shit up in a book before you go off with your "I skimmed a Ted Talk once" level of understanding of the subject telling me all about nuclear engineering and how foolproof it is. Ever heard of The Great Chilean Earthquake? 9.5 on the Richter Scale. Ever heard of the New Madrid Earthquakes? Happened right on the Mississippi River, made it run backwards for days. Knocked people off their feet, lasted minutes. Ever heard of Fukushima? Caused a tsunami that sent ten-meter tidal waves that just rolled around and around town, pretty much plowing and scouring every structure off the land that stood before them. Overwhelmed the dikes that had been thoughtfully placed around the power plant, which had been built in what was considered a reasonably safe place.

Nope, fission power is not safe, especially with Affirmative Action hires running around everywhere.

Ensuring diversity hires don’t make any mistakes.

Requirements to store the waste securely for thousands of years.

If diversity hires seep into such industries we're gonna have bigger problems.

Requirements to store the waste securely for thousands of years.

I don't think it's a big deal, there are multiple underground storage facilities already made for this.
