This is the wrong way to look at it, I think. If you look at African cultures, matrilineal polygamy is widely practiced. This is a system where paternity isn’t strongly establish so dads dont really hang around. What little wealth there is is passed down from the maternal uncle to his sister’s children, not his own. They aren’t filling a void. This is how it was in africa before white people. There’s always high violence among them. Rap isn’t telling them to be this way, rap is how they are.
