Don't hand lost money to employees. Put it in your pocket, and if someone comes back into the store saying they lost it, you give it to them.

Or anything valuable. Leave a card with your contact info on it for them to put in the lost-and-found.

I always teach my kids, if it ain't yours, don't take it. I found $20 on the floor of a store once. I took my kids and the $20 and went to the register to turn it in. The people at the counter were absolutely amazed someone would do something like that. Very shortly afterwards, my son found a Hot Wheels toy car in the hardware store that some other kid accidentally left behind. He picked it up, looked at it like he really wanted it, then put it back and said "it's not mine". It's great to be a dad.

Moments like those, hell yeah it is. That pride you feel when you see your kid do something virtuous is unmatched.

Not keeping the money instead of turning it in is racist! REEEE!

I'd keep it if I knew a nigger had dropped it.

A nigger with $150?

i know people have things on their mind, but if you drop $150, you might not want to ever carry cash again.
