the curved in yours are not as extreme as some LA streets but those are bent. spin that VR view around.

It also matters what palm was selected.
Other cities use straight vertical palms, but many of those need constant pruning of lower leaves.

I see crooked trees. I don't see them all leaning to the south. Trees often don't grow straight. If latitude were the cause the lean would always be in all members of the species, all in one direction, and the amount of leaning would be correlated with the latitude. Let's see a row of those same palms in the tropics with no crooked ones.
