The fact that people do all kinds of bullshit things to create investment schemes doesn't imply that there is no outer space. Controlling culture's perception of their place in the universe, and their place in the technological 'progress' of mankind, has been a gambit employed by world powers for a very long time. Remember the old 'World of Tomorrow' segments? It's the same shit. People have to see themselves on a certain trajectory to gauge what's believable. It doesn't mean there's no space. Look at all of the schemes currently hatching because of Covid. There is going to be a whole racket that builds up in commercial real-estate the world over for getting 'certified safe' against pandemic viruses because of your structure. That'll spawn regulatory bodies and third-party certifiers, and all kinds of behind-the-scenes pay to play shit. The 'space investment' thing is just another rouse. I think Elon Musk is a prop, a complete prop.
The idea that space is the next frontier for human growth or even economic opportunity is ridiculous. The continent of Africa is fucking massive, and the real war will probably be for control of that continent. I happen to think the migrant crisis is related, but I'm a retard. We might have the world mapped, but there's still a lot more particular kind of expansion and exploitation to go on right here at home. Antarctica anybody? People keep talking about how we could make living on Mars habitable...this is hilarious to me. We have huge landmasses on Earth, much closer, which we could make habitable if we have all of this fancy technology. Why would we go to Mars before we'd terraform here first?
Frankly, until human beings establish something peaceable here, they don't belong setting down on any other rock. To just go to another world because shit at home is fucked would be the equivalent of being space liberals. I'd like to think there is some benevolent alien space force that monitors things like this. They're watching the blue-haired crazies on earth right now, like "Do it. Do it, humans. I fucking dare you. You haven't even passed the test at home yet, and you think you're going to start spreading. Uh uh, I don't think so."
We can build islands too.
We can easily colonise the sea as well.
The only reason we really are not doing it so far...is because there is no need to.
And if there is no need to colonize deserts, artificial islands, underwater domes or icy utopias...is because we are not running out of land.
"SPACE LIBERALS" !!! BWAHAHAHA!!!
