when my father bought our first and only home when i was a wee one, he named the fanicest room in the house the "sparking room." it had all the marble and fancy stuff he procured on his world travels. it had an elegant couch.
i never understood why we had a sparking room because none of us was allowed to date until we turned 18, and by that time we were encouraged to "go see the world, make something of yourself."
