It's sad how badly Adam Curtis has gone off the boil, I could barely watch his latest series. He went from joining dots between seemingly random trends and providing useful insights, to cherry picking clips to support his own preconceived ideas. I think living in London and reading the Guardian finally fucked his head.
I'd watch it again - it's basically a collection of true stories linked to how much we've changed. The scene where the doctor berates the trans was genuinely uncomfortable (whatever your views on the matter are). The AI seeing nothing but dogs, the underlying theme of deliberate structural confusion, the random clips of shocking incidents that are largely forgotten. It's actually a pretty good watch.
I might have to give it another chance, maybe I let my own crystalized judgements cloud my view. The music and the collages are worth watching if nothing else.
