I agree he could have opened the door with them outside handle. However, most people aren’t thinking with cops yelling and pointing guns. They fall back on habit. The handle on the inside is probably the only one he was thinking of and he was trying to avoid getting shot. They were over reacting and being overly aggressive. Just because a cop is screaming it at you doesn’t mean it’s a lawful order. What happened to their de-escalation training? The dude was speaking calmly while they were at his door. They could have calmed down. Cops rarely get fired, they “resign” so the problem goes away. Then they go get a job at another department and continue to abuse citizens. They only get fired when the department can’t defend them. Which means they did something they shouldn’t have. Chauvin isn’t guilty of murder, but he also didn’t try, even for the camera, to check fentanyl Floyd. So the department couldn’t defend his actions. The cops are dicks in this case.
