That's a pretty jaded, or as the internet memers would say, blackpilled outlook. I do not agree.
it's mostly circumstantial relationships and you're all at the center of your own lives and a side show for each others.
Yeah, that's how it works.

Perhaps I've never had a meaningful relationship then. I believe I have though, and that's how it works. We'll just disagree on this unless you have more to add.
Solitude is vastly underrated
The problem with "friends", is that they tend to project/attach on yourself, an image of yourself that conveniently fits their needs and expectations.
And inevitably, at some point it's time to say goodbye, because I'm not here to live according to one's expectations, nobody is.
Call it conflict of interests if you will
