And this is exactly why AI is a bad idea, and robots are an even worse idea. If killer bees, GMOs, or bioweapons did not convince you that irresponsible scientists require strict controls and regulation over what they are allowed to do, this should. In nearly every sci-fi novel or movie, in nearly every futurist speculation, this shit does not have a happy ending....at least not for mankind.

Not if mankind insists on allowing scientists do anything they want, whenever they want. Scientists have no comprehension between what they can do, and what they should do....they are entirely focused on results, and never on long term consequences of their actions. In the case of AI and robots, it does not take an Einstein to foresee the most likely end destination of this path. And there you have it in a nutshell. Too much governmental control where it is not required, way to little control where it is essential.
