Essentially if it's a thunderstorm keep moving until you're inside shelter or a vehicle. Hiding under a tree or lying down aren't very good ideas. I'll leave it as an exercise for you to lookup the science behind why that is the case.
Never use a cliff or rocky overhang for shelter.
