i would say that is true for most things, we know things work and have theories that explain them, it does not mean there is not alternative explanations or we will not uncover information that reenvisions the entire field
environmental factors for illness is just logical and fits in to the standard model of how we know microbe work, think of a vagina, it hosts a colony of lactobacilli and produces exudates that feed that colony, when the ph balance is shifted and yeast gets a foothold we call it a yeast infection, it stands to reason the same thing can happen with the body, add to that antibiotics and the mental health connection of gut microbes and you start to get a much more complicated picture, some times really stupid people start to notice that shit is complicated yo and then think they are super smart for stumbling on to something unknown when in reality this shit is already well but its also really complicated and hard to study with modern methods as there is so many variables its hard to prove cause and effect
think of Chinese medicine, its bullshit but its not entirely wrong as it effectively treats food as preventive medicine, you eat stuff to stop your self becoming ill, you control your environment to stop your self becoming susceptible to illness which are generally going to be caused by you lacking some nutrient or other, thats mainly physical problems but the same is also going to be true for your immune system, just look at the current pandemic, 90% of deaths are lacking in vitamin d, or their environment was altered in a way which made the virus more deadly
on that note if you are a man who wants to increase your fitness, eat more cumin, turmeric and red cabbage, eat no soy based products and reduce your onion and garlin intake, also eat seaweed, even if you are not intending to get fit that stuff is pact full of nutrients that a modern diet is lacking, mainly iodine

Wait, wtf? I’m addicted af to garlic and onions. Is that way I’ve hit a plateau with my muscle gain? I’ve been on a keto diet for like 3 years now, keeping carbs to a minimum (for pre-workout meals), and I’m just now finding out that onions and garlic kills gains?
I gotta research this shit. No way... giving up bread and pasta wasn’t so bad, but I don’t think I could ever give up my favorite veggies.
they are not as bad as soy but they are not great, a little garlic is good for you and i still eat onion i just cut back a little, red cabbage lowers your estragon levels so just eat a more of that
ketos is great for weight loss but its not ideal for gaining muscle, but what is likely killing your gains is you are no longer pushing your self to failure/past failure, i think a mistake a lot of people make is uses sets rather than going as hard as they can, gains are main in those last few reps, ideally for muscle growth(not peak fitness im talking for size here) you then drop down to easier exercise targeting the same muscle groups to push your self past failure i.e assisted lifts or dropping to your knees for push ups
do you remember when you started and you really felt it the next day? thats what you are trying to do, no pain no gains
