i was raised by a malignant narcissist. i was the scapegoat to a sister who ended up a violent child abusing *socio*path (not psycho) 'golden child' basically the narcissist sets the narrative and gatekeeps away the fuck out of anyone else who might get a better picture. the sociopath then uses the golden child status to get more and more and more violent until something happens that someone outside has to intervene, outsider gets gatekeeped away by 'we are not here to talk about her behaviour we are here to deal with yours' but counsellor generally knows exactly what the issue is, and instructs kids get kept away from each other. Narcissist doesnt like this because its an attack on them so golden child is allowed to keep attacking while scapegoat is gaslit into believing theyre the one causing the issue. in my case it flat out stopped working, problem is if it doesnt work directly then the golden child will start pulling in others, in the end it was a 3 year old girl who was told she smells like a fucking little whore. getting blamed for reacting naturally disgusted by that broke my conditioning and that was the end of it.
