Almost every libshit in Long Beach just lets their dog shit in the middle of the sidewalk. Fucking disgusting. I screamed at some boomer yesterday for feeding endangered birds bread. I hope we do get nuked. Fuck it.
I'm not sure which birds are endangered or not but I do know it's not cool to feed bread to ducks because it messes them up so they can't fly.
Theyre african geese that escaped from the safari park. El nino 97 was crazy and a ton of birds got out. IIRC thats where the parrots all over ocean blvd came from.
Well, the parrots need fed, that's for sure because as non native and sometimes communal type birds they really can't survive well on their own, especially in the wild away from cities. We have a Riverwalk at the Western suburb of Riverside near 91 freeway which is basically a carved out artificial river with water pumped from the low end near the canal to be recycled over and over at the top end. Stop pumps and it's just a long meandering trough that connects a series of ponds. To date I have noticed coots, (not sure which type but I'll assume American Coot), Mallard Ducks, a common White Duck flock that recently landed, a lone duck with a crest (I can't identify) , a single large brown loon (can't identify) and now at the top end I noticed a flock of what looks like Canadian geese numbering about 50 by estimate, could be less. In the water are a great number of small red eared turtles, a few leatherback turtles with at least three of over a foot in length and one of perhaps two feet in length. Fish are blue gill and some bass of small size with some Koi carp that were introduced 15 years ago when they first created the Riverwalk. Signs posted say, No Fishing but I have seen people doing catch and release with reports of an asian man spearing some of the large Koi. What's bothersome is that in spite of the signs which say no feeding of ducks or waterfowl people will walk up with kids and feed the ducks. One girl even told her dad "It says no feeding the ducks, dad!" and he then took to tossing out bread himself while his daughter refused.
