It's true. My grandmother was born in 1912 in Czechoslovakia. She saw her father go off to war, her mother died during this time also. Went to school and soon saw the start of WW2. Then communism for 50 years and punished by the state for being a business owner (she owned a small grocery store) She worked in a chemical factory after that among other jobs. Never did she turn to drugs and never did she become bitter. You are damn right, becoming an addict is weakness.
