That's why they should be. It would be really great to be able to defend yourself from a cop just by beating them. As is you have 2 choices, comply (no matter what they've done) or use deadly force immediately. If some asshole shoves you, you can shove him back and maybe stop him from continuing. There is only one level of resistance for male cops.

He's still in and his parole was denied as recently as 2020.

"Parole Eligibility: An inmate's parole eligibility is determined by the laws in effect on the date the offense was committed, the offense of conviction, and the sentence. The BPP has complete discretion in parole decisions."
Maybe he got a hearing after 25 years because of some law. /shrug
