I have found that, in general, animals are a lot more intelligent than we give them credit for. I’ve seen signs of personality, curiosity, even kindness in everything from a small bumblebee to a huge dolphin.
It’s something that gives me pause whenever I find myself eating meat... but then my thoughts come to how cruel reality is and how it’s eat or be eaten, and I go back to enjoying my delicious steak.

So is mine, but he's still kicking. He must be doing something right. I think he's learned to meow "hey" and "hi" to me since I say it to him most times I see him around, but that could just be wishful hearing.
