Did you know that when they do that, and it's amazing, it's them playing?

It's all for fun! Nature is awesome. So is our Creator.

[–] 3 pts

it is never "all for fun"

that is a very childish view

[–] 2 pts

Most likely they're checking eachother out for mating purposes during this whole ordeal.

That's not true. Many animals do things just for fun. Crows and parrots, dolphins, dogs, certain monkeys and apes. Humans do things just for fun. The most arrogant thing in the world is people thinking they're separate from nature instead of part of nature. Fun isn't a purely human concept.

play is still practice (puppies play fight just as kids wrestle: it is all fun, but it is training and practice). It can be fun, but it is fun for a reason--like sex.

nothing is fun for the sake of fun. It kind of made me sad when I learned whales breaching was not for fun, but served to knock off parasites (like this is fun, but it serves to knock of (((parasites)) ).

What are you talking about, this is God's original screen saver xD.

I was hoping they would arrange themselves in a swastika at the end... still pretty alright I guess.

Murmuration.

Imagine if it were ducks, and you were there with a double-barrel shotgun.

Starlings

Yep, and they are an like niggers.

Do they destroy the neighborhoods of other birds? Steal their food? Complain about how unfair they are treated? Demand bird gibs?

[–] 0 pt

Yes. They are destructive, unsanitary, and destroy the habitats of other birds.

mother nature puts on some great shows.

If only western man worked together like that.

[–] 0 pt

He does.

Ive been thinking about this. In a murmuration a lot of information is shared very rapidly about the velocity of many individuals within the flock. I think that in our culture, it sometimes seems as if there are consciously orchestrated conspiracies among certain segments of our society, when really individuals are picking up on subtle cues to behave certain ways. I think cultural trends spread like murmurations.

Of course sometimes it is a literal conspiracy. But I think a lot of what we are witnessing is automatic behavior.

That kind of sums up Uncle Ted's essay entitled: "The Systems Neatest Trick"

This is God basically saying “proof enough for you, faggots? Check this shit out.”

It's the same behavior fish exhibit in schools.

How do they not all bump into each other and shit? And how do they all seem to know when to turn and which direction to go at the exact same time?
