It took me forever to really appreciate our whiteness. Our DNA. Our thing. You just can't get it unless you're one of us. I could go to Maine and speak to loggers, to Alaska and joke with fishermen, to Texas and have a "chaw" with an oilman, or slide into L.A. and watch a ballet with snobs.
