In regards to structure, method, and materials, yes. In regards to Infrastructure we've integrated into homes and insects, not so much. I'm a bit curious how things will develop as more termites develop immunity to pesticides.

Old building wood had a shit ton of chemicles in it. They don't use it anymore because if you burned it, it could kill you. However, termites wouldn't do shit to that wood.
We've basically switched from putting the chems in the wood to spraying them regularly in and around our house.
