I worked for this framing/remodel company and we had maybe 40 2x4 16 footers on it and the horses snapped. He also went out of business. I was very impressed with how much weight those horses could hold.
a tremendous attention to detail was made for these horses to become this strong. which means a simpler version you could make by hand could hold up ~1 ton if you are following these directions. For how long they can hold it is up for debate, but it held for a few minutes, long enough to shoot the video anyway.
