Agreed the guy could have done a better job of deescalating the situation by calmly exiting the vehicle with his hands up, instead of asking for a smoke break. It's theoretically supposed to be the pigs' job to deescalate a situation, but they never do, that responsibility always falls on the people they're interacting with.
He should have been shot to death. If you're fleeing police you're a danger to everyone. Then he was a danger to the officer based on his claim and actions.
