This is a discussion of "trimers" and "trimerization." Spike proteins get cleaved into S1 and S2 at the furin cleavage site.

Then three of the proteins, I can't remember if it is S1 or S2, attach to each other strongly at the cleavage site. The spike trimer is dangerous, as is the normal S protein.

Remember that this is Ralph Baric's work and he won an award for inducing myocarditis in mammals using coronavirus years before he made the coronavirus vaccine active ingredient.
