Interesting. I’m in AZ and a few days ago was told by my brother that a friend of his who had worked with RA patients said I should test for Lyme Disease as it is often confused with RA. Hadn’t even occurred to me that there are laws regarding who can order a blood test. So should I expect resistance from say Sonoran Quest Labs who is one of a few here that tests for it?
As I understand I am at risk for the beetus because of the RA. So far my numbers there are just below prebeetus. At least there’s that so far.
It’s crazy, you’d the body chemistry for this shit would be easier to figure out in this day and age.
That's wild that you are in AZ. At least I can help a bit more. So here is the list you are allowed to order from here https://www.sonoraquest.com/my-lab-request/. At least for me, ordering a blood draw through the website has been broken since some time in 2020. I get a error message and it won't let me update my phone number. I've called their support and they just tell me to print stuff out and stop bothering them. Maybe it works for new registrations.
I have to print out the pdf and fill it out and take it with me after scheduling the draw. They will take it and you should pay at the counter. Sometimes they tell me I don't and then I get a nasty note saying I need to call and pay ASAP. It's different everytime I go which is why I now just pester my doc for orders. When I ordered online I was able to pay right then and schedule. It was easy and their people at the office didn't know anything other than insurance card wasn't needed.
Yeah I thought I’d try a walk in approach. If not that day get an appointment for later. Why does everything medical have to be so difficult?
They gotta keep us sick and on drugs to make money. If they made it easy to get our own tests and diagnosis and treat ourselves they'd be out a lot of cash. They love to treat the symptoms rather than the cause.
I have had four doctors refuse to order thyroid antibody tests 'because the treatment is the same whether you have an autoimmune condition or not so there's no point.' It doesn't matter to them that if I can keep my antibody levels down, my thyroid takes less damage and therefore I don't need as much meds. Not that I use their meds. I buy dessicated thyroid but they all wanted me on synthroid.
