I saw a mess on a trip to our semiconductor assembly facility in Singapore circa 1996. One of my to do items for that trip was to evaluate their characterization lab capability. After digging out and functionally evaluating their equipment, I pulled up a few floor tiles to see what their wire management looked like and it appeared every wire from the 1970s-on was right where they left it, what a mess! I even found old broken test equipment hidden down there. No, I'm not in the market!

I've had the update service turned off on my Win7 machines for probably a year now. I'd let the community vet the updates for about a month, install what worked, and ignored the rest.
