i supported Trump in his presidential run and the vast majority of his presidency, but his obsession with this fucking vxx is so weird. it's going to be what sinks him for the supporters he has left I believe.

playing total devil's advocate and mixing in some conspiracy theorist thought process (which has proven to be correct way more than any expert), the only thing I can fathom that sorta makes sense why Trump would act this way is this. Maybe the lockdowns were supposed to last for years and the only way we were ever going to be let out is if a vxx was created, so maybe instead of locking down for years which would obliterate the economy into nothing he had this warp speed bullshit so we can come out of the lockdowns faster and not completely destroy the country. there's much more to it I'm sure, but this is the basic jist. it's far fetched, but so is destroying your country over a flu and that happened with the blessing of every major institution in the country.
