When all is this started I took a deep dive reading what I could find on mRNA "vaccines". No, they are not vaccines in the traditional sense of being derived from diminished and dead viral material. They are an engineered payload designed to elicit a programed, tuned, and targeted immuno response by genetic manipulation. That in itself isn't bad. It's essentially what the natural reaction to viral material in a traditional vaccine does but with the potential to be tweaked. The concept is great. To get the programming payload to the right place Messenger RNA is the body's delivery vehicle. A big expense for pharma in developing vaccines is the testing that goes into the process. An mRNA-based product is almost a Holy Grail in that the delivery mechanism that gets the mRNA in and on its way (usually piggybacked in some kind of lipid) could be developed and tested ONCE and then used with replaceable programmable payloads, analogous to a tested Space X rocket launching different kinds of satellites. In theory, the testing expense is greatly reduced and profit margin explodes. This is a corporate board's dream. As a software developer I appreciate the efficiency and value as well. mRNA-based treatments could both be safer (by reusing the common, tested delivery component), more profitable to make, and theoretically cheaper for the consumer. This is a great IDEA but, like cold fusion, there's been no proven success attaining results yet. Pharma has tried. Multiple times. And every time the tests were all halted because every animal test subject died. None succeeded that i could find. All of this is to say that I have made and continue to make every effort to remain educated on this topic. So now we have an "emergency" (99.96% survivable means only 4 out of 10,000 die). To fight this emergency we create experimental new mRNA treatments and expedite the testing. We waive manufacturer liability through Emergency Use Authorizations from the FDA. And we mandate that everyone take them. Oh, and our FDA leads formerly worked for Pharma. Our politicians writing the mandates invest in Pharma. And our chief billionaire philanthropist evangelist Gates just happens to have a TED talk out there ("Innovating to Zero") where we can "solve our population issues if we do a really good job with our medicines and vaccines". Wait -- wut??? Has no one seriously asked for that comment to be elaborated upon and explained? (You Google it and give it a listen) Prior development efforts didn't fast-track successful CoVID-19 response. Prior development efforts failed, time and again. Greed and malice and EUAs waiving liability and criminal fear mongering have fast-tracked the murder of billions. Don't go shilling and put yourself on the wrong side of history.
