My ex was a great cook and idolized Julia Child. She watched all of the old Julia Child cooking series plus Julie & Julia at least a half dozen times [loved it] on PBS - I watched it once. She told me about that fun fact.
Find the old black and white episodes from the late 60's-70's. Those are golden because they were far less polished and Julia Child was totally unrehearsed. Good times and magic.
I remember those b/w episodes. She was a real character!
Speaking of chefs with character, remember "The Galloping Gourmet" with Graham Kerr from the late 1960s to the early 1970s? Loved that show!
Yes he was so awesome. He always would say "now take a leek" and the women in the audience would titter and giggle. They wore that joke out for sure but yep, watched him too.
