They could show the integration with a carcinoma cell line that brings all the enzymes needed for that process with it. Also, the cancer cells multiply fast, presenting the DNA without the protection of a nucleus. We don't know if there are real life conditions that can lead to similar results, but at least they know now where to look at in follow up studies.
