You should be able to request blood from vaccine free donors. I don’t know where each hospital gets its donated blood supply, but the official Red Cross page on [coronavirus and blood donation](https://www.redcrossblood.org/donate-blood/dlp/coronavirus--covid-19--and-blood-donation.html) says if you have been vaccinated for COVID-19 you must state that along with the manufacturer of your vaccine when you donate blood. The Red Cross may not label blood products with the vaccination status of the donor, but they have that information and they could label their blood products if they wanted to. That means we should also be able to track problems like this because we know which recipients are getting vaxxed blood and which ones are getting clean blood. People need to start insisting on vaccine free donated blood. I’m betting wealthy people insist on it at their expensive private clinics. We know they’re asking for vaccine free pilots for private flights. _edit_: The parents here did even more. This is another typical case of the doctors ignoring their patients and doing whatever they want. They should sue them simply for giving their son a medical treatment without their consent.
