Let's be real, this is a really dumb claim. You could show that exact kind of graph for anything popular. Movie ticket sales. Game console sales. Whatever fad you want. Everyone gets it who wants it, then they already have it so sales collapse. That doesn't mean that thing is no longer popular, or that the people who did get it suddenly changed thier minds.
