I learned that a colleague of mine in his forties stroked out recently and is in rehab today.

Sad news to be sure, but I don't feel feel about this like it was a bolt from the blue. I am pretty sure he is vaxed up, and I am sad that he believed that bullshit and did that to himself. It is different than, "oh, Jesus, he had a stroke?!" I am sympathetic for sure, but the stronger emotion is that which tends toward disappointment.

Have to ponder on this, it is hard to articulate.
