Chief AstraZeneca Scientist Says Annual Covid-19 Vaccine Booster Jabs Are “Unsustainable” The scientist behind the AstraZeneca Covid-19 vaccine has voiced his concerns about the booster jabs. Dr Andrew Pollard, who also chairs the UK’s Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation, said that it was “unsustainable” to vaccinate people with boosters twice a year. In an interview with the Telegraph, Pollard said that injecting people with booster shots every four to six months is unsustainable. He said: “We can’t vaccinate the planet every four to six months. It’s not sustainable or affordable. [If] your goal [with boosters] is to stop all infections, that is wrong.” Pollard said that vaccine rollouts should “target the vulnerable” instead of boosting entire populations. “The future must [focus] on the vulnerable and make boosters or treatments available to them [in order] to protect them,” he added.
