I see this sentiment a lot when guys kill themselves. The answer is very sad. When you reach the point of wanting to die, *truly,* your anger at the circumstances/people that sent you into your downward spiral has usually passed. Unless you're an unusually malicious person, you wouldn't be making plans for revenge as you struggled in your descent. Then when they finally hit bottom, they're so broken, so hopeless, so totally out of fucks to give, that the notion/effort of going on some righteous rampage doesn't even occur to them. They just want to fucking get it over with at this point. Some may also realize that by going out and trying to commit violence for revenge realize that they might be injured and captured- which is the "worst case scenario" in their mind at this point. I'm sure many consider it, but come to the conclusion that it'd be far simpler and more certain to just go into the garage and blow their brains out, rather than suit up and go Rambo. Man.... the fact that I know all of this makes me worried for myself. Fucking sick of everything...
