Last year, especially when everyone was home, the outer loop of the city would become a racetrack after midnight. Average speeds on the interstate were running 80+ during the day. I took a 250 mile trip in May and it was me and a few trucks. Used a lot more gas and got to my destination an hour earlier than normal.
A friend with a hot-hatch de-limited Genesis would tell me about all the cars out on the freeway that night, doing in excess of 180.
I suspect the excess speed had a lot to do with it, and I see that even now. Speeds in the afternoon are usually running 10-15 higher than posted limts, and you'll still get passed. Cops? Nowhere, or going faster than that. I also see a lot more accidents, and bad ones.
80+ during the daytime. 100+ once the sun goes down. It's getting wild out there.
I'm usually on the road at 530AM. Traffic's light, and it seems to run slower here.
Depends on the highway around my area. Interstates go balls to the wall. State and county highways run slower. Local cops are still getting tickets, but the state troopers only seem to be patrolling for expired tags and such. I see the troopers for the first few days of the month and then nothing for the next three and a half weeks.
