I have no idea, they distract the hell out of me.
Plus we have a law that all public TV’s must have closed captioning on or they face a fine.
The reasoning is deaf people can’t hear the games or tv shows, but most places have the games/shows muted, since there’s multiple going on at one time on different tv’s.
Then their other excuse is the emergency broadcast system, they won’t know what to do without closed captions on if there’s an emergency. Guess what, the emergency broadcast system already has them embedded for that reason.
So wherever you go around here you have close captioning on.
