I can't see them paying a bonus day one - how many nogs would show up for a few days, collect a bonus, then just vanish like chocolate in the Sahara? I mean, I'd have to consider that as well. Need a grand? Take a job for a few days. I know that's not right, so I don't, and it's why I'll never get ahead of the game.
But yeah, fast food and retail has never really been about a 9-5 type job, they don't want people there during the dead hours. I do know of a few joints that offer their employees a full-time job, but that's very rare.
I knew it wasn’t day one, my GF was arguing with me and I said I don’t mean day one lol. But if they’re holding it for months and then finding reasons to get rid of you before having to pay it, that’s scummy and I can see why nobody will work for these “bonus” companies.
I thought it would be accumulated per hour and when you reached X hours it was paid or if they fired, laid off or quit you would still receive the banked amount. But I still sometimes have misplaced faith in companies and people.
In the military I got half my bonus upon graduation and the other half at the end of my first enlistment. Then for my new reenlistment bonus half was paid at the same time the contract to effect(the same date I got my last part of my original bonus) so a full bonus in one check that time(last and first combined) and then the final payment when I was honorably discharged.
Could’ve got another one and stayed but I was done.
Employers are just shit and many deserve the reputation they get.
