I know you're joking but I physically went to beaches of the Channel where they cross it. I wanted to see if I could spot some migrants trying their luck on a dinghy. I didn't see any in the water but I saw a few groups of men that were waiting in the dunes nearby. If you go to cap Gris nez and cap Blanc nez you can see clearly the cliffs of Dover on the other side. It's really narrow at this point.
