Officially, In france it's 35h per week on average for a factory worker for instance, or a public servant, but then the company you work in might need more hours so it's flexible and they pay extra hours at a different rate, depends

And of course you have lines of work where this is only theoretical because of the very nature of the job. I mean if you work in IT, you typically don't count your hours you just work until shit's done and it's not rare to work over the week end. In terms of quality of life, the factory worker has it better, because he doesn't have to deal with insanity and when his day of work is over, it's over, there's no grey area

And that's for the idiots that will pop in and say "if you don't work 12 hours a day you're lazy" https://pic8.co/sh/mRc6lv.png being overworked doesn't increase productivity, it only increases your chances to end up burnt out and useless
