I think a show of put your money where your mouth is should happen. I think the mayor, city council, the queen and all the left on the their form of congress should house migrants in all their spare rooms for at least a month, and if no police are called, no one is killed, and no women in the house raped then it's a fine idea but this should happen first and the homes asked should all vote progressive since they're the one who think it's a great thing they should step up and take the lead in all of this. Of course you'll see left voting right after a week or so of having to deal with them one on one on a daily basis but that is here nor there and life when people have to back up their ideals.
