Driving to meet my lady, I’m listening to the radio, which I rarely do anymore. On one of the breaks they had one of those MSM news updates.

MSM proceeds to tell this story where they claim the Ukrainians have discovered a collection of dead and tortured civilians.

I just roll my eyes.

I’m not saying Vlad is a “good” guy, but he’s also not stupid. It benefits him NOTHING to “torture and kill” civilians…in fact, it would have the opposite effect. We all know this.

So that only leaves a handful of culprits if it wasn’t the Russian military.

We all know who those are.

Larger point being, they are doing everything they can do condition us into accepting a war with Russia. I’m relatively insulated from the bullshit propaganda, but this just reinforced to me how much the gaslighting is in effect. Disgusting.

I wouldn't rule it out entirely. Of course don't rule out the Ukrainians doing that either. War gets nasty when it's not just a "police action" like we do in every corner of the world. This is why war is evil and we should do everything to prevent it, including ceasing to pick on Russia.

Hopefully this ends soon and everything can be resolved to a point that Russia feels secure, Ukrainians have independence from other powers if they want it, and those responsible for corruption face justice in all nations. What matters more than who's right or who is wrong is how can we get closer to that outcome. It seems like a narrow possibility but we can push the ball a little closer to that goal than if we ignored it and instead just acted on the emotion of the day. Any other outcome will eventually lead to WWIII because anything else will be volatile. Even if things die down they will heat up again eventually if we don't push towards something stable rather than "our own strategic interests".
