I had a Social Studies teacher in middle school who hated the term, "melting pot." He argued that putting a bunch of tasty ingredients into a pot and boiling it until it was mush just resulted in a bland meal. Like English cooking.
His idea of an American Smorgasbord sounded better; where people came to America but kept the uniqueness of their own cultures, so long as they were "Americans" at heart above all else. Something Roosevelt mentioned, I believe.

Now I see his point but I liked my grandfather's idea better. "Fuck off. We're full."

We had good immigration laws prior to 1963. Kennedy tried to save us, I believe he was of the same mind as his grandfather joseph, wanted a national socialist society with unlimited farmland, power, and water.

Research NAWAPA.

It was 60 years ahead of its time, the Chinese saw the plans and are close to completing their own water / power project

Imagine unlimited cheap nuclear power, desalination plants in California to prevent droughts, and a massive water project to divert northern flood water to the southwest and northern Mexico.

His plan was to close off all immigration and increase the home population but creating a new american frontier. He could have fucking done it too. China is proving this

Merit-based immigration isn't necessarily a bad thing. H1-B Visas are a disaster.

I'll dig into NAWAPA (duckduckgo.com) right after I finish the conference call I'm on.

Right on.

You'll find huge amounts of criticism but I find it hard to believe considering China discovered this and ran with it
