Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton is receiving massive praise for his efforts to get the Save America Act passed through Congress.

Paxton is currently in a primary battle with incumbent Sen. John Cornyn. Because neither he nor Cornyn received over 50 percent of the votes in Tuesday’s election, they’re scheduled for a runoff election in May.

However, in a stunning move, Paxton posted a tweet Thursday offering to drop out of the runoff election if the Senate “agrees to lift the filibuster” so that it can pass the SAVE America Act without Democrat votes.

Good move by Paxton. He's backed Cornyn into a real corner with this one. Either way Paxton wins. I was thinking he could parlay that into a governorship run (if Cornyn actually supported removing the filibuster, which he won't). However I looked and Texas does not term limit their governors and Hot Wheels has already announced he's running wheeling for a fourth term.

I thought the same thing. He's backing Cornyn into a corner and making him look unreasonable. He'll be able to use that in his ads during the primary.

Abbott is definitely going to roll for office again. Friends of mine in TX were saying that he wanted to be part of Trump's administration but that fell through. He has nowhere else to go to keep the grift going.

making him look unreasonable

I hope I'm correctly reading public opinion on this. It is reasonable to end the silent filibuster; this is never how it was intended.

nowhere else to go to keep the grift going.

Maybe not. But he can fuck off to where ever the hell Rick Perry is.

The silent filibuster needs to go. Stand up there and talk if you want to play Mr. Smith Goes to Washington.

Killing the filibuster is like opening Pandoras box. When the Dems regain power they will absolutely destroy the country because their people actually fall in line with part doctrine unlike the repubs who squabble amongst themselves and get nothing done.

The dems are going to kill the filibuster as as they regain power. The thinking is that the RINOs should do it now and ram through at least some of their agenda before the wheels come off.
